Missing in March

Where have I been the last week?  Well I haven't been anywhere but my computer decided it needed a bit of a makeover and has been in the computer workshop all week. So it's good to have it back, yet a bit unnerving as to how much I missed it.

But life did go on and this week the Nords Wharf Brown Owls met
for a bit of a sew-a-thon.

We worked flat out.  For me personally knowing that this was my window of opportunity to achieve something without having to stop and; make a sandwich, stop a squabble, wipe some unattractive body part, clean up mess, (I think you get my drift).

Caree brought along her very nice sewing machine (which we all used) and she worked on her 'soon to be finished' quilt.

I brought along the beginnings of a quilt that I had started recently. I'm not a fan of following patterns so I did my own version, using chenille and vintage materials.
On the night however, I decided that I didn't really need a quilt, but did need a new beach bag.  So I made roughly 90% of the bag with the help of Wendy.  She was super helpful and sent me home with the advice and know how to complete the job the next day. (I'll show you soon).

This is part of one of Wendy's bags.  As we all know a woman can never have too many handbags!  It was great to have another Brown Owl step in a lead the way on the night.  It was so productive and enjoyable.

It was a great night at Brown Owls! I am really inspired to get my quilt finished & plan my next sewing project. I may even have a go at making something to wear.

More Importantly - I missed your blog this week. I forgot about the computer being away and kept checking in for your latest update. It is not the same without an update from The ARty Dog

Thanks 'kjfcaz', nice to know I was missed. I too missed contributing, subsequently the computer repairman now thinks of me as a bit of a pest with my daily phone calls. Is it ready yet?
